WORKSHOP
semplicita live, life consciously. consciously experience simplicity. it can escape us, like a fleeting encounter it can move us like a deep feeling come un emozione.technical progress is continually breaking new ground. things that were fiction yesterday are already commonplace today. this extension of technical possibilities can be meaningful and lead to impressive new solutions.
however, in the light of all these new possibilities, the question arises as to what is really essential for human well being. spectacular new facilities that push the boundaries of modern technology can lead to a multitude of experience-oriented new impressions. but the question is whether all this variety is also beneficial to human relaxation and recreation.
the idea of wellness is based on the concept that people be presented with the opportunity to break free from their everyday routine, to step back and rediscover their internal rhythm.
one of my fundamental experiences on bali was the leisure that was granted to me in this remote place and opened my eyes to that which is usual and commonplace. the proposed idea corresponds more to an attitude than a specific project.
it is like an oasis, set free by water. easy to realise in the remoteness of one`s own garden. immersing ourselves warms us in the lap of the earth. immersion brings us into contact with mother nature. it is this simplicity that satisfies our primitive needs.
this does not mean a categorical renunciation of technical innovations, but rather using them in a targeted and well-measured way that is oriented towards these needs. the true challenge thus lies in combinig the optimal use of modern technology with a simplistic appearance as possible.
matteo thun`s slogan, „echo not ego“ is an attitude that has developed over a period of many years and refers to the importance of overcoming one`s own ego in order to be able to react in a better way towards one`s environment and one`s own basic needs. in this way, natural resources can be discovered and used without promptly fleeing into an alternative frame of mind. this approach should include the use of technical aids yet reject non-essentials.
